Overview
Longden Steel first started operating in 2003 as an SME general retailer of all types of steel. However with time a decision was taken to focus on reinforcing steel only which is now our specialty.
The company is no longer an SME and we are considered by our industry the leading supplier of reinforcement steel and specialist steel fixing services. In 2006 another strategic decision was made to devote resources for mining business and since then we have experienced phenomenal growth is business from the mining sector.
Initially we started by supplying roof reinforcement fasteners like shepherd crooks to gold and coal mines before getting business on new and/or expansion projects in mining. In this regard we have supplied and fixed steel for Costain/J. R. Goddard at Ngezi Portal 1, Stefanutti Stocks/Murray and Roberts/Costain at Unki Mine project, Rennicks Construction at Unki. At Unki Mine Project we had labor compliment of 50 Steelfixers who did cutting, bending and steel fixing.
Longden Steel has a close relationship with other big name construction companies such as J.G, Construction, John Sisk, Elevate Construction, Rio Duro Construction just to name a few. Currently we are busy with Econet and Netone base stations, expansion works at Delta Beverages and Sable Chemicals and refurbishment works by Spar franchises
Our Harare workshop runs on Heavy Duty Hydraulic machines bought from RSC South Africa, which give us a cutting and bending capacity of up to 20 tones a day or equal to 400 tones a month. We can also place machinery on client’s site subject to the availability of power to process steel on site.
