During 1986 and 1987, a number of Christian men and women began discussing the idea of starting a Christian-based school in Harare. In 1988 the first class of the official Gateway Primary School opened, while in 1991 Gateway High School was founded. Within ten years of this humble beginning, Gateway Christian Training College formerly known as the Gateway Teacher Training Programme also opened.

Now, more than 20 years on, the Gateway Schools together with GCTC stand as a proud symbol of God’s Glory and His faithfulness in answering the prayers of these early Founding Members, whose vision and commitment has paid off for so many in the local community.

The GATEWAY SCHOOL TRUST Purpose, Vision and Values speak strongly of what we stand for.

“OUR PURPOSE as a Bible-based Christian Educational Community is to glorify God through serving our nation and impacting the world.”

“OUR VISION is for all members of our community to have a personal faith in Christ with a principled, well rounded character, equipped to reach their full potential.”
