About Us

We are a growing lodge with 21 rooms all en suite. With breathtaking views of Lake Kariba, which is a 5 minute walk away, our rooms offer the best accommodation in Kariba.

The lodge is in the heart of Kariba with fauna and flora all around. Guests can expect:

  • to  see and hear elephants, hippos, zebras and antelope from their windows or on one of our balconies.,

  • to see lovely indigenous trees such as Cluster Leaf, Bush Willow, Mopani, Acacia and many other trees.

  • to see a wide variety of bird species such as Weavers, Bul Bul, Waxbills and many more.

Other facilities and services include – laundry, secure parking, a large swimming pool, air conditioning, free wi-fi, full-board or self-catering, transfer services and satellite television.

General Information

Dzimbabwe lodge is located in the town of Kariba, Zimbabwe. Kariba is in the Mashonaland West Province close to the Kariba Dam at the northwestern end of Lake Kariba, near the Zambian boarder. The town was established to accommodate workers who were constructing the Kariba Dam in the mid to late 1950’s.  Kariba is 365km from Harare and shares a boarder with Zambia. Victoria Falls is accessible by plane (Air Zimbabwe) or overnight ferry (self-drive visitors) from Kariba.

Climate
Kariba is generally hot throughout summer with average temperatures of over 30 degrees Celsius, becoming more humid with the onset of rains in December to March. May to August are cooler months with average temperatures of 26 degrees Celsius or lower.

Visas
Visas are required for citizens of some countries so please inquire from your travel agents or local authorities before making your travel arrangements.

Health
Malaria precautions should be taken before travelling to Zimbabwe, which is normally two weeks prior to your travel. It is advisable to consult your Doctor or Pharmacist as inoculations may be necessary.
