If you’re up for an active & adventurous and a private & exclusive holiday to a wilderness destination unspoiled by mass tourism, then you have come to the right place.

A typical day with us may include sneaking up to a herd of buffalo, tracking down a pride of lions, tasting the tart fruit of a baobab or beating a hasty retreat from a herd of advancing elephants.

The aim of our walking safaris is to provide one of the closest to nature experiences possible on the commercial safari circuit whilst not compromising on basic comforts or safety. To maximise guests’ enjoyment we operate our walking safaris fly camp (and Gonarezhou Bush Camp too for that matter) on an exclusive booking basis which means the only people you’re likely to interact with are your travelling companions and our guides and crew.

Rather than walk with heavy backpacks, we prefer to have camp taken ahead of us and geocached at pre-arranged locations which allows us to walk between camps with a light day pack.

We take our time, looking at many of the smaller plants and animals as well as appreciating the larger ones. The distances and routes walked each day vary according to group dynamics and physical ability.

Usually we are up at first light and after having a light breakfast we set off on foot with a day pack containing lunch and sufficient water for the day. We tend to limit the majority of walking to the cooler hours of the day and normally plan to arrive in camp in camp in the mid to late afternoon thereby ensuring sufficient time to relax (and bathe) before sunset

To maintain the expedition and wilderness feel, we prefer not to set up the camp ahead of guests arrival which requires guests to participate with setting up camp and gives a feeling of accomplishment.

Much like Gonarezhou Bush Camp, we require a minimum of four people for a minimum stay of four nights to outfit one of our walking safaris and quite frankly a trip shorter than four nights is insufficient time to get into the rhythm of the bush.
